This document shows you how to install and uninstall the Base Calculator utility application under Microsoft Windows. In this document, something like “Start » Settings » Control Panel” means that you click on the Start button, select the Settings sub-menu and finally click on Control Panel.
In order to successfully install and run Base Calculator, you will need to meet at least the following requirements:
1. | Microsoft Windows NT 4 or later (including Windows 2000, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional), or Windows 95 or later, as your operating system, |

2. | At least 3 MB of free disk space, |
3. | If you are running Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional, the password for the Administrator account on your system. |
Installing Base Calculator is quite simple, but be careful to follow the instructions exactly:
1. | If you are running Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional, log in as Administrator. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE or Windows ME, simply log in. |

2. | Run the Base Calculator setup.exe setup program in the utils/basecalc/win32 directory on this CD-ROM. This will run the installation program; a window will appear with an introduction. |
3. | Once the introduction appears, follow the installation program’s prompts. |
4. | You have successfully installed Base Calculator under Microsoft Windows! |
Uninstalling Base Calculator is quite simple:
1. | If you are running Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional, log in as Administrator. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE or Windows ME, simply log in. |

2. | Start the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel. If you are running Microsoft Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 or Windows 95/98/98SE/ME, you can do this by selecting Start » Settings » Control Panel, then double-clicking on Add/Remove Programs. In Windows XP, select Start » Control Panel, then View » Classic View, then click on Add/Remove Programs. |
3. | Select Base Calculator in the list of installed programs, then click Change/Remove or Add/Remove (depending on your version of Windows). Follow the prompts. |
4. | You have successfully uninstalled the Base Calculator utility application. |
